Classes at the Sussex Rapier School are open to anyone over the age of 16. Our teaching structure is a combination of drilling and free play. A beginner can feel confident that they will not be introduced to any free play (fencing) until they are taught safe use of the rapier, how to defend themselves and feel fully confident to engage in freeplay. We encourage people to enjoy themselves whilst developing a knowledge of the "Art and Science of Defence".
Due to the nature of our instruction (we are not a fencing club), you are welcome to drop in, meet the students and instructors, watch a class and see whether you feel you would like to take part in the next class but please do not expect to take part on that day.
