SMALLSWORD

On becoming a full member of the SSA you will be expected to adhere to the following code of good ethical conduct and practice as summarised below. All members will:

1.

Consider the wellbeing and safety of all participants.

2.

Develop an appropriate working relationship with other members based on mutual trust and respect.

3.

Make sure all activities are appropriate to the age, ability and experience of those taking part.

4.

Promote the positive aspects of the martial art (eg fair play).

5.

Display consistently high standards of personal conduct.

6.

Conform to SSA weapon and kit standards at all times.

7.

Follow all guidelines laid down by the national governing body (BFHS) and the School (SSA).

8.

Hold the appropriate, valid qualifications and level of insurance cover.

9.

Never exert undue influence over other members to obtain personal benefit or reward (eg bullying, blackmail or extortion).

10.

Never condone rule violations, rough play, or the use of dangerous weapons (sharps).

11.

Encourage members to value their contribution and not just results.

12.

Never teach or share SSA material outside the Salle without the prior permission of the SSA Instructors (copyright of all SSA material remains with the School).
