An Exchange of Minds and Blades The British Federation of Historical Swordplay (BFHS) will hold its 2005 Annual General Meeting in Brighton From the 2-4 December and this year it is set to be a truly international event, with attendees arriving from Italy, Spain the US and of course the UK. The evening of Friday the 2nd December will be reserved for the all important matter of discussing the business of the BFHS and representatives of all member groups will be welcome to attend the meeting. This will be held at the highly renowned Nightingale Theatre, which rather fortuitously is situated above the Grand Central Bar, whose beverages are only slightly less renowned. For those not attending the discussion Brighton’s bars, clubs and restaurants are your oyster and we will be delighted to point you in the direction of some of the more choice entertainments. Whereas the meeting of the 2nd of December will be closed to non BFHS members the events of the 3rd and 4th of December are open to all comers. These two days will be packed with events that should provide something for everyone with an interest in Western Martial Arts. The following pages provide details of the workshops, demonstrations, one to one tuition sessions and the competitions that will take place over the two days. Hosted by the Sussex Rapier School and the 1595 Club, we have called upon experts from across the country and the continent to share their knowledge at this event and, for that opportunity to mingle. Don’t forget to book early for the evening banquet on Saturday 3rd December as there are limited places. We look forward to seeing you all there and your participation in this exciting event. |
